Sam is hopeful to get to a period of response, but is not so focused on achieving it that it takes priority over everything else. He understands that the treatment journey ebbs and flows. During his first period of response, Sam used the time to get back to the things he loves, like baking and taking light hikes with his spouse. He also took time to work with his care team to develop a comprehensive plan for next steps with his treatment.
This type of cancer isn’t going away, but you have to find ways to handle the stress. Mental health and self-care are important to help deal with things.”
